Who is Crosswave?

Crosswave is an outreach of Gateway Christian Fellowship in Raleigh NC operating in partnership with families from local churches as a year-round King’s Kids GO Network team. We follow discipleship principles from Youth With a Mission’s King’s Kid ministry. Our mission is for kids to know God, to love others, and to make Jesus Christ known to all peoples.

Crosswave seeks to equip, challenge, mobilize, and establish an “emerging generation” team of young people (ages 10-20) who are eager to respond to the Great Commission and follow the Great Commandment! Youth should not have to wait to follow whole heartedly after God; they can GO and SERVE now!

In Crosswave, kids develop strong love relationships with Jesus to find true joy in knowing and obeying Him. They learn to share the good news of Jesus Christ through performing arts, music, practical service, personal witness, and much more! They are challenged to learn God’s truth, to recognize His voice, and to believe His Word that can and will transform them through all the situations they face in life.

The team meets one weekend each month beginning with a “Boot Camp” in August and ending with a missions trip the following summer. Each weekend event includes Bible study, worship, prayer, practice, outreach, personal devotions, group discussion, fellowship, and fun. We’ll sleep on the floor, clean everything in sight, help each other, and learn that life is not about us, but about the One Who loves and gave His life for us. Crosswave enables lasting friendships that provide young people with encouragement and counsel they need as they navigate the rapids kids face during the years of adolescence.

There are two main forms of Outreach: HANDS (Helping A Neighbor Develop and Serve) and Celebration Arts (drama, skits, choreography, declaration). Crosswave is able to minister the life-changing grace of God in many different settings, at the NC State Fair, in Sunday morning church services, at the Mall at Christmas, in special neighborhood parks, on campuses, at soup kitchens, in youth meetings, in nursing homes, wherever the truth and life of Christ is needed.
